Mass Distribution - YEA!

As Ehow users, we know how to send messages to those on our friends list. However, it can often be frustrating to have to go into every single profile just to send a message, and the copying and pasting can drive you just short of insane. So, is there a way to streamline the process and if so, how? I have discovered a solution - READ ON!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A word processing software program.
  • Access to the Internet.
  • Access to your Ehow Friends list.
  1. Step 1

Open the word processing application of your choice. Launch Internet and log into Ehow.com and access your friends list. Okay, so I just realized that I combined three steps into one, but we're intelligent people you can do it!

  2. Step 2

Short-cut keys you'll need to know (Sorry, Mac users, your short-cut keys will vary slightly). Ctrl-C (Copy), Ctrl-V (Paste - Where'd they come up with that? Ask Bill Gates), Alt-Tab (quickly and easily switches between Internet and WP/Spreadsheet application).

  3. Step 3

Individually, click on the "send message" button on each profile in your list. Unfortunately, you cannot just copy what people have over their picture in your master list because it is often different than the name that receives their e-mail. Once the message area pops up with their "address" populated, highlight it and press key combo Ctrl-C.

  4. Step 4

Execute the Alt-Tab combination and switch to your word processing application. Press Ctrl-V and the information that you copied previously will magically appear. Place a comma after the pasted name and then a space. Execute another Alt-Tab to switch back to Ehow and then hit the "Back" button to return to your friends "master" list.

  5. Step 5

Since there is a limitation of five (5) recipients per message, repeat the above step an additional four times so that you have a total of five (5). A comma is not required after the persons name last in the list. After the last name, hit the Enter key twice so that you have a space between lines.

  6. Step 6

Repeat the above steps for as many friends in groups of five that you have as part of your friends list. Do NOT forget to save your document because you will want to use it again and again.

  7. Step 7

Go to your Inbox on Ehow and click "Compose". Alt-Tab back to your word processing program and highlight the first line of the first five recipients. Execute a Ctrl-C, Alt-Tab back to Ehow, then, in the To: field, press the Ctrl-V combo and Voila! Repeat this step until everyone (in groups of five) has been notified.

Tips & Warnings
  • Whenever you make a new friend, add them to your Word list so that they can be included in your notifications.
  • Save your document in a place where you won't forget where it is.
