arrange a dozen roses

After following the instructions you will be able to simply and quickly arrange a dozen roses in a vase like the professionals.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • knife
  • vase
  • 12 long stemmed roses
  • 3-4 stems of greens
  • water
  1. Step 1

Fill your vase 1/2 full of cool water.

  2. Step 2

Preparing the roses: Lay the roses out on the table in front of you. One by one take your knife and shave off the thorns and leaves on the bottom half of the stem. (you will not want any leaves to be under water)

  3. Step 3

Sort the roses from longest to shortest. Take the shortest one and cut 6 of the rest of the shortest to the same length. Put the 7 roses in your vase laying them evenly around the edge and crisscrossing the stems as you go.

  4. Step 4

Take your 3-4 stems of greenery and put them in the middle of the roses you just put in the vase. (this will help support the remaining roses)

  5. Step 5

Take the next 4 shortest roses and trim them all to the same length. Put them in the vase in the greenery, making a square shape.

  6. Step 6

Trim the last rose and put it in the middle of your square you made with the previous four roses.

  7. Step 7

Lastly, Fill your vase with additional cool water as needed making sure no leaves or greenery are under water.

Tips & Warnings
  • To help fresh flowers last longer change the water daily adding cool water each time.
  • cut flower stems at an angle to help the water absorption
  • always use a sharp knife
  • Be careful when cutting thick stems-the knife is harder to get through and you could easily cut yourself.
