Step 1
Throwing a child's birthday party can be a lot of fun. Some like to think of a theme for the cake and decorations, but you don't have to. I recommend party supply stores or dollar stores for decorations.

Step 2
The key to throwing a child's birthday party is the fun things to do at the party. Instead of party favors pick a children's craft that they can make at the party and take home with them. My favorite place to look for a craft is Oriental Trading Company. Check out their website at www.OrientalTrading.com they have dozens of fun and inexpensive crafts to chose from, and you can have your items shipped to you. You may also want to visit your local craft store. Having the children works double duty for you. It eliminates the need for favors, plus it keeps the children happy and busy!

Step 3
You may wish to add another game or activity to your party. If out doors you may want to try a scavenger hunt, or a pinyata. Fun games can also be found at your local party supply store. The rest of party time can be spent on food or cake. Keep it simple. Pizza is great party food. Serving cupcakes instead of a sheet cake will save the time and trouble of cutting and serving. Enjoy!
