Step 1
If you are having your own garage sale, be sure to put up plenty of flyer's and ads. It's hard to make money from a garage sale if you no one knows about it.
-
Step 2
Go through your house and anything you don't think you will use again, put up for sale. Even if it is a very random item. I have sold things at a garage sale that I never thought anyone would ever buy. Just goes to show you, sometimes you get people just as random as the item.
-
Step 3
Try to have "specials" in your garage sale as well. For example have a "two for one deal" or "buy one get one free"
-
Step 4
If you are selling television or something valuable make sure you put it in your advertisement. That way you should have quite a few people coming to visit.
-
Step 5
Also try posting your garage sale on not just on flyer's but on the internet. If your town has a local website that has a message or bulletin board, be sure to post it there.
-
Step 6
If you decide to go to someone else's garage sale to make money, try looking for items you know the pawn shop would buy back for more.
-
Step 7
Maybe even go to eBay the night before and print out a list of things a person would probably sell. Such as clothes, furniture, etc. Then when you go, you will know if it is possible to turn a profit.
