When was the last time you checked out the ingredients and warnings on your bug spray? Yuck, right? And the smell? How many of you like smelling like Skin-So-Soft? Or Off spray? Here's a natural, easy on the nose solution!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • witch hazel
  • vegetable glycerin
  • citronella & lemonbalm essential oils
  • 16 oz spray bottle
  1. Step 1

Most of these ingredients can be found in your local health food store and maybe even a drug store. But you can definitely purchase them online as well.

  2. Step 2

    Combine:
    2 cups of witch hazel
    1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin
20 drops each of citronella & lemonbalm essential oils

  3. Step 3

Shake it all up to mix thoroughly. It is best stored in a tinted glass spray bottle, but this could be harder to find. If you use a clear bottle, ensure you keep it out of direct light when not in use.

  4. Step 4

Spray on body and clothing liberally every 15 to 20 minutes while outside.

Tips & Warnings
  • For natural bug repellent that doesn't need to be applied quite as often check out my other eHow article under Resources.
  • Test end product on a small patch of skin before applying all over.
  • Avoid spraying in eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Note: Product could stain white or light colored clothing
