Step 1
Locate some fonts that you would like to use. You can find a variety of fonts that you can download for free online. Check out the Resources section for links to sites that offer various fonts.

When you download a font, it will either have a *.ttf file extension or it may be zipped. If it is zipped (file extensions include *.zip or *.rar), make sure that you unzip the file before installing.

INSTALLING A FONT IN WINDOWS
Click on the Start Button and select Control Panel. -

Make sure the Control Panel is in Classic View and double click on Fonts.

When the Fonts box appears, click on the File menu and select Install New Font.

In the Add Fonts dialog box, browse to the location of the downloaded font, highlight the font, and then click on OK. The font will then install.

To test the font, you can open up Microsoft Word, select the font, and type away.

Note that installation for Windows Vista is identical to installation for previous versions of Windows. However, accessing the Fonts option in the Control Panel is a little different. When you access the Control Panel, click on Appearance and Personalization and then click on Fonts.

My apologies for no screenshots…I don’t currently have a Mac PC. -
Step 10
To install a font in Mac OS X 10.2.X and earlier versions, select Home from the Go menu in the Finder. Double-click the Library folder. Click and drag the font into the Fonts folder.

To install a font in Mac OS X 10.3.X or later versions, double click on the Font you wish to install in order to open the Font Book. When it is open, click on Install Font.
