Treat an Infected Cut
Treat an Infected Cut

Here are some tips that I learned when my brother had surgery and his incision did not go away.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

It is a good idea to keep the cut bandaged. However, you do not want to bandage the cut too tight because you want as much blood flow as possible to the cut area.

  2. Step 2

If there is pus coming out of the cut, a sign of infection, then your doctor or surgeon should take a sample of the pus to a lab and have it analyzed. The results of the analysis will better help the doctor prescribe antibiotics to fight the infection.

  3. Step 3

In the meantime before the analysis of the pus is finished, it is a good idea to put the person with the cut on some sort of general antibiotics. This will keep the infection from getting any worse. Remember to always consult your physician on which antibiotics to take. Thanks for reading.

on 11/6/2009 Years ago, my brother popped a pimple on his leg, worked out with sweats, didn't shower, forgot about it. Hours later his leg swelled so bad he went to the emergency room. The doctor said in 2 hours he would had lost his leg, 6 hours death from sepsis, which is bacteria in the blood. In other words, go see a different doctor and get it fixed.
