Things You'll Need:
- pen or pencil, computer, creative ideas.
-
Step 1
If you're a workaholic, stop! Slow down your schedule and turn off the work demands. Prioritize what is most important in your work, make a list of those priorities and stick with them.
-
Step 2
Learn to enjoy your home life. Allow yourself to enjoy the good and private moments that can only be felt at home. A person's home should be a place of respite and peace. If this is not the case in your home, make it so!
-
Step 3
Rest and Relax! For most of us, this is difficult and feels strange when we do it but resting and relaxing can help the mind and body to "regroup" so that when you return to work, you are feeling much more energized--ready for what comes next.
-
Step 4
Find laughter in everyday life. It is there. All one has to do is look around and open one's eyes. Before long, you will see in everyday situations the humor that is there.
-
Step 5
Spend time with your family. These are people who love you and enjoy being with you. Sharing with others--especially family--can take the burdens of life and literally put them on the shelf for awhile. And, in some cases, can help you solve those problems. Remember, "two heads are better than one" when it comes to coping with life's problems and issues.
-
Step 6
Take better care of yourself. By that, I mean, get plenty of good exercise, eat balanced meals, pamper yourself with personal grooming, enjoy a leisurely shower, etc. By doing this, you are saying to your body and mind, "I care about you and want you to be your best!"
-
Step 7
Most of all, slow down! You don't have to hurry around all the time! It's just not necessary. When you slow down, you will be able to see the "big picture" in life and that is--the journey is much more important than the destination. When you do this, you will see so much of life and why people do what they do. And, it will open your eyes to yourself--what and why you do what you do.
And, never forget, each of us has but one life to life, so live it fully and happily!
