Things You'll Need:
- paper towels
-
Step 1
To remove water from anything, draining is necessary. To drain a VHS that is expected to have water damage, you can simply turn it facing down, that is with the arrows facing down.
-
Step 2
To ensure all excess water is removed shaking the VHS Tape will be involved. Rest assured shaking the VHS will not further damage the VHS.
-
Step 3
To dry the inside you can gently open the top. But if you are afraid to, like myself, you can simply fold up a paper towel and blot the inside to remove any traces left of water.
-
Step 4
You can let the VHS air dry, but be sure not to leave the VHS directly in the sun, especially if the tape is showing. Direct sun can damage the footage.
