This is a quick an easy way to fix a water damaged VHS I learned from a local t.v repair shop.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water damaged VHS
  • Sun or blow dryer
  • Q-TIPS
  1. Step 1

Immediately remove the VHS from water. DO NOT SHAKE THE VHS

  2. Step 2

If it is sunny, take the VHS outside and remove the plastic caps over the side. Put Q-tips standing up in every crack and crevice you see and let it sit out for about 5 hours, after 5 hours then flip it over and let it sit for about 2 hours.

  3. Step 3

If it is not sunny, use the same method but let it sit next to the blow dryer and it will have the same results.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is all depending on how bad your damage is.
  • Do not shake the VHS. It will further the damage to the VHS.
