burn CD on windows media player!

Burning a CD on windows media player is simple and dos'nt take that long to do. Follow these easy steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • CD burner or writer drive
  • Burnable CD's
  • Music CD's if not already on computer
  1. Step 1

First thing you will need is the music you want to burn saved on your computer. Open up windows media player. Update to new version if needed. To rip a CD or copy the music from a CD to saved file on computer click rip at the top next to library. Click it. Insert the CD into the drive. Let it load. The CD in the drive should have all the different track numbers listed with check boxes next to them. You listen to them by right clicking and pressing the play button or on the older version just double click the track you want to listen to.

Go through and play them all and click the box next to that track to select it. When you have all the songs you want to rip on your computer selected click the rip button. It will show the percentage of how much has ripped. When it has fully ripped it will show the tracks in the music library. Continue doing this and put all the songs you want on the computer.

  2. Step 2

Click the burn tab at the top of the windows media player. You can either just select the song's you want on the song list and drag the song to the side on the burn list or checkmark it. There are different versions of windows media player. or you can make a play list by choosing songs and adding to play list (Dragging to the left side play list name) until you have all the songs you want on it. It should tell you the total number of time of the songs on the list.

On top of the CD your burning it should say the maximum time capacity so fill as many as possible onto the disk if you want to.

  3. Step 3

Once all songs you want are selected click the burn button and then it will tell you the percentage complete and estimated time limit. Once it's done it will open it's self or open when complete and you have yourself a burned CD.

Tips & Warnings
  • You must have a CD-R drive to burn. CD-R Means CD recording. A CD-RW means it's rewritable. You can rewrite the disk with this but you have to clear the whole disk and the rewritable ones don't play good at all. Don't use rewritable disk. They are not that good.
  • There is a (number)X on the disk. That is the speed. The higher it is. The better it plays. If it's not high enough than it won't play in some audio devices like car CD player.
  • If you plan on doing allot of burning don't buy 5 CD's at a time buy the big packs and you save allot more money. As far as which ones to choose.
  • I recommend getting the 80 min. 52X CD-R makes sure it's CD-R type and not DVD-R or CD-RW disk.
  • Also before you start ripping check the music library to check if the song are already ripped onto the computer and if you rip off a bought album it should have all the info ripped with it such as song name, artist etc.
  • Make sure your computer has enough space to store the songs. If you have thousands of songs it could slow your computer down.
