Boost Your Brain Power
Boost Your Brain Power

Good news for the aging brain. According to a variety of experts, including neuroscientists, there is very little difference in the functional capability between the brains of healthy young people and healthy older people

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

For memory help, when you hide something or place a letter to be mailed: concentrate and every say to yourself out loud, "I am putting this bill for the electric on the black shelf to be mailed later."

  2. Step 2

For a learning boost, underline important pieces of information. Make lists. Take notes. Outline. Make up questions about what you are trying to learn. Paying attention to details and circling the most important words signal what you wish to learn.

  3. Step 3

When I am studying for a test, I make flashcards using bold markers with a key word on one side and the answer on the back. The fact that I am writing down this jumpstart and then reiterating by using the cards, is double assurance for my memory.

  4. Step 4

For creativity word games are basic. For example, try to name as many different breeds of dog you can. Make up your own funny definitions. For example, a good-bye is a bargin; youthful is a youngster who ate too much, and a sleeping goat is a kidnap.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to use your nondominant hand. Exercise the other side of your brain by switching hands when you do a task. Do it on a regular basis.
