Wearing the proper business causal attire to an interview, meeting or any other semi formal environment is important for making a good first impression on the hiring manager. With a good impression, you might just land that perfect job that you been seeking for months. This article talks about how to wear business causal attire.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • interview attire
  • makeup
  1. Step 1

Whenever going to an interview, always dress conservative business causal attire. This is especially important if you are seeking a job in a conservative business climate. Remember, business causal attire gives a professional appearance in any situation.

  2. Step 2

Never dress causally on an interview even when the job is in the science field and has an in-lab practical part. Keep business casual attire in your mind at all times.

  3. Step 3

Always cover your tattoos with clothing. Even though many people believe in the right to express individuality, the conservative business climate always calls for professionalism.

  4. Step 4

According to recent research, people perceive others base on how they look. Although we always say don't judge the book by its cover, people subconsciously do it all the time. It's just human nature. Making a good first impression on the hiring manager is always very important.

  5. Step 5

For woman: solid color conservative suit / skirt with matching blouse, moderate heels (neutral colors), very little or no jewelry, neutral makeup (use earth tone colors such as brown), light perfume, and professional looking hairstyle.

  6. Step 6

For man: solid color conservative suit with matching long sleeve shirt, (black is the best choice here) socks and conservative black leather shoes, no jewelry (watch and wedding ring are okay), clean shaven, neatly trimmed and clean nails.

  7. Step 7

If you are shopping for business causal attire on a budget, try express, they have some great pants that are professional enough for most occasions.

Tips & Warnings
  • Although interview causal attire is important, nothing substitutes for preparedness for most occasions.
