How to Change Engine Oil in a Waverunner

Changing the engine oil in your WaveRunner is a fairly simple project and can be done by just about anyone. The items needed to successfully change the engine oil can be found at your local marine shop. It is suggested that you change the engine oil every 90 hours on your WaveRunner, so keep a log of when you change the oil so you'll know when it needs to be changed.

Things You'll Need

• Owner's manual
• Oil extractor
• Cloth rag
• Oil filter
• Oil

Instructions

1. Use an oil extractor to extract the oil out of your WaveRunner. There are normally around 2.4 quarts in an engine, depending on how often you change the oil.

2. Look in the owner's manual to locate the oil filter. Use a cloth rag to remove the oil filter.

3. Put a little oil around the outside ring of the new filter. Put the new oil filter in the engine.

4. Add the new oil to the engine. Start the WaveRunner and let sit for a few minutes. Shut off the engine and check on the dipstick to make sure there is enough oil in the engine.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't add too much oil because you can blow the engine.
