How to Draw Beautiful Girls

Drawing beautiful girls is not easy. You need to study a lot of pictures of beautiful girls (very difficult research!) and get a good idea of their proportions, shapes and style. Drawing girls requires a good grasp of anatomy (nothing literal intended there) as well as how the female body differs from the male body. Girls have very curvy shapes for their hips, breasts, eyes and facial features. Always use round curves, and pay attention to waist lines, which are much higher than a man's. Also, always draw the legs longer and face smaller. Here are the basics of how to draw beautiful girls.

Instructions

1. Sketch in the position of the arms, legs, head and body. Make light lines to depict where they are and then start to harden and darken these lines. Always use round shapes for everything, the legs and upper body included.

2. Draw the face. Make the eyes large and round with big eyelashes that you can establish with a thick, dark line that flares to the outside of the eye. Make the lips large and plush, with shading under the bottom lip as well as around the mouth itself. The lips should be full at the center and then taper sharply to points at the edges.

3. Draw the nose, a simple sloping line from between the eyes and an upturned nose that is like an upside down heart shape with small ovals for nostrils. After you draw this, harden the line for the chin. It should be slender, very small and elegant, with only a little bit of a curve that is higher up on the jaw line than a man's. It should be a "quick" curve, and not exaggerated, which makes it more pleasant and appealing.

4. Draw the body. It starts with slender shoulders that are round but not muscular and the upper body lines start just under the breasts, where they taper in for a short while then start to flare out immediately into hips. The waist line and belly button should be showing, and will be as wide or wider than the shoulders.

5. Draw the legs, using slightly bowed lines that star at the outside of the hips, and curve in to the knees. Then they curve out and back in to form the calves. Her feet will also be small but large enough to support the body.

6. Draw the hair. Make flowing lines very curvy to outline the hair, then shade it with solid areas of color. Draw it cascading across the girl's face for more drama and appeal. Give it some lift off the face and head to indicate body in the hair.

7. Draw provocative clothes, like a low-cut dress, or sexy clothes like cut-off jeans and a tied up shirt. You can draw in some unbuttoned shirts or a bikini to make your girl more beautiful, or pose her in an elegant dress and sun hat.

Tips & Warnings

• Always make your girl with the most rounded shapes, and draw then lines soft, not hard or angular. Never use sharp angles except to define the corners of the eyes and mouth.

• Avoid drawing a blocky, square chin on your beautiful girl. Always use curving lines and "soft" shapes. Do not draw the head too long. It should be only about 50 percent longer than it is wide. Typically, wider heads are more beautiful and sensuous than longer ones (unless you are Sarah Jessica Parker).
