  1. Step 1

    Camp at Homolovi Ruins State Park. It’s the site of three major Pueblo habitats once occupied by Hopi Indians.

  2. Step 2

    Explore the best preserved petroglyphs in America at Rock Art Canyon Ranch. This artwork by the Anasazi people is complemented by a wooded canyon and a stream that runs through it.

  3. Step 3

    Canoe, fish, swim and picnic at Clear Creek, which canoers can take all the way into Clear Creek Canyon.

  4. Step 4

    Stop by Meteor Crater, a 550-foot-deep and 2.4-mile circumference crater created by a nickel meteorite 50,000 years ago. It’s the first proven meteorite crater on Earth.

  5. Step 5

    Stroll along the six-block-long 1st Street Pathway. It connects the Hubbell Trading Post with the La Posada Hotel, the same hotel that was once the stop for every train that ran between Los Angeles and Chicago.

  6. Step 6

    Visit Spider Rock in Canyon de Chelly National Park. This 800-foot-tall natural rock structure was formed more than 230 million years ago. Spider Rock was once home to the Navajo people who built caves in its cliffs.

  7. Step 7

    Listen to the song that brought Winslow, Arizona international fame. Standin’ On the Corner Park features a guitar-playing statue built in a tribute to the famous Eagles song, “Take It Easy.”

  8. Step 8

    Pay tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, at the 9-11 Remembrance Gardens, a construction that includes two beams recovered from the World Trade Center.
