Instructions

Find the gifts. You can't make a gift bouquet without the gifts. Obviously, you will be searching for gifts that fall on the small end of the size spectrum. You need small, lightweight items fitting for the occasion. For example, you might buy baby socks for a gift bouquet to give at a baby shower or assorted candy items for a child's birthday.

Stop by the local craft supply store, and pick up floral stems and floral tape. These are both relatively inexpensive and will be located in the floral department.

    • 3

Choose a vase for your gift bouquet. You can use a traditional flower vase or something more creative if you are so inclined. Just be sure that the container you choose will be supportive to the gift bouquet you place inside. You don't want your beautiful arrangement to topple over.

Assemble the "flowers" for your gift bouquet. Each item that will be included in your gift bouquet will be transformed into a flower. To do this, you will need to secure a floral stem to each gift item. Work with one gift at a time. Wrap the base of the gift with floral tape to create a small cone of tape at the bottom of the gift item. Insert a floral stem into the center of the cone, and secure it with more floral tape.

Arrange the bouquet. Once you have turned each gift item into a flower for your gift bouquet, it is time to assemble all of these "flowers" into a bouquet. Poke the stems into the container you have chosen to use as a vase, and tinker with the arrangement until you achieve the look you want for the gift bouquet.

Finish your gift bouquet by attaching a small card, similar to those that are included when you give someone a bouquet of real flowers.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add an extra special touch to your gift bouquet by tying a pretty ribbon around the vase.

  • If the vase for your gift bouquet is clear, consider partially filling the vase with candy, colorful glass beads or small gifts.
