How to Obtain a Colorado Business Trade Name Online
If you want to start any type of business in Colorado, you must have a registered trade name, which is also called a "doing business as" name, with the Secretary of State. Obtaining a trade name is critical to legally conducting business in the state of Colorado. A trade name allows you, as a sole proprietor, to use a name other than your personal name. As an LLC, a trade name allows you to operate multiple businesses under one name. Registering your trade name is a very inexpensive and easy process and can be done completely online from the comfort of your home.
