Things You'll Need:
- You know what
-
Step 1
Emergen-C -
You can get them anywhere. They come in little envelopes and you add them to water. It makes a fizzy drink that gives you a little boost of energy and clarity. It's loaded with B vitamins which helps with grumpy feelings. -
Step 2
Go For A Walk:
The fresh air and added circulation help your body deal. The headaches can sometimes come from vascular restriction caused by the hormonal shifts. Taking a walk will help. Probably the sunshine helps too. -
Step 3
Smell Some Lavender -
Who knows why but the sent of lavender or mint often helps alleviate symptoms. -
Step 4
Water, Water, Water - you already know why.
Now just remember to drink it. -
Step 5
Iron Pills -
If you feel like a limp dishrag or feel like bawling it's caused by the drop in iron level in your body. Everyone's body absorbs different types of iron supplements a little differently. When you find the one that is right for you, you will feel dramatically 'all better' in about 30 - 45 minutes after taking it. You can also try eating more iron rich foods when you know the curse is coming. -
Step 6
Calcium Supplements:
This works for many women -
Step 7
Stretching -
When we are uncomfortable we tend to unconsciously breathe shallowly, which affects our muscles & tissues because toxins build up in them, which in turn makes us feel more achy. Break the cycle by stretching and forcing blood and oxygen to move around your body and not be lazy and do the job they are supposed to do. -
Step 8
Deep Breathing -
Again, increasing the oxygen levels & circulation in your body. -
Step 9
Get Busy -
This is not a good time for 'Madge, you're soaking in it' If you lay down and give in to it, it will dominate your day, and who really wants that? -
Step 10
Bach Flower Remedies -
Rubbing Rescue Remedy on your tummy seems to help some women. -
Step 11
Hot Tea -
Different people swear by different types. Lemon, Mint, Peppermint and Rasberry. Experiment and you may find one that makes you feel good. -
Step 12
The PMS Diet -
Cut eliminate or cut down on out all red meat, all processed foods, all bleached grains, all caffeine, and all dairy. Eat lots of soy rich proteins, chicken, fish, veggies and fruit Most dairy is loaded with hormones that trick the cows in to staying in a lactating state. Needless to say this gets passed in to the dairy products and antagonizes your already fluctuating hormone levels. -
Step 13
Donate Blood -
As soon as you start to bloat. Don't know why it works, but it does work for many women. -
Step 14
Eat Beets -
Who knows why, but it really works for some people. -
Step 15
Hope this helps!
