Announce calls on your T-Mobile Wing

This is a fun feature for the T-Mobile Wing that not many people know about. Activating this feature allows your Smart Phone to ring, vibrate and verbally announce the caller's name or phone number. The T-Mobile Wing will also speak incoming text and email messages. Let's say you're away from your cell phone and your T-Mobile Wing announces a number you'd care not to answer right away, simply let it go to voice mail or check it later! I do it all the time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • T-Mobile Wing
  1. Step 1

From your T-Mobile Wing's today screen, go to Start > Settings > Voice Command. When the Voice Command window opens up, make sure the enabled box has a check in it. Below you will see different options to enable voice command. Check the Phone and Messaging box.

  2. Step 2

Click Phone and click Options. Check the third box to Annouce Incoming Calls. The Wing will announce the caller's name if it is in your contacts or the number only if the number is not saved on your Smart Phone.

  3. Step 3

Click Ok to go back to the Voice Command menu. Click Messaging then Options. Check this box to Announce New Messages from your Wing. Click Ok to go back to the Settings menu.

  4. Step 4

From the Settings menu, select Phone. The Sounds Menu will open. For Ring Type, use the drop down box to select Vibrate and Ring. Select your favorite ring tone from the next drop down box. Click Ok to go back to the Settings menu.

Tips & Warnings
  • Adjust your Wing's volume appropriately.
  • Test the ring tone choice to make sure it doesn't clash with the Wing's voice command.
  • Activating Phone Messaging under Voice Command to Annouce incoming messages will do just that. The option will the entire text message and the subject of incoming emails. If you have a stream of personal messages, you may not want to check this option for your T-Mobile Wing.
