These are some practical tips to save energy in the home.

  • Nothing just yourself
  1. Step 1

    Use your Computer's sleep mode. Avoid using the screen saver. Did you know your monitor uses 80% of the computer power.

  2. Step 2

    Raise thermostat during the Summer. This will save 1-2% of cooling costs.

  3. Step 3

    Close doors and windows in unused rooms. Saves 3% in cooling costs.

  4. Step 4

    Unplug battery charges and power adapters when not in use.

  5. Step 5

    Remove window AC unit during wintertime.

  6. Step 6

    Use power striped to turn off equipment when not in use. This eliminates standby power consumption.

  7. Step 7

    Close fireplace flue damper when not in use.
