    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • 2 double ended knitting needles (thin, #4 or #5)
    • 2 - 4 1/2 - inch dowel rods
    • 4 rubber bands
    • Drill
    • Vice
      • 1

Select a drill bit to match the size of your selected knitting needles.

      • 2

Place the first dowel in the wood vice and tighten it so that the dowel cannot move or turn.

      • 3

Measure a half inch in from the end of the dowel and drill your first hole. Repeat on the other side.

      • 4

Make your loom more versatile by placing additional holes, equally spaced, closer together. This will allow you to use the same loom for different patterns.

      • 5

Remove the first dowel from the vice and set aside. Place the second dowel in the vice and drill matching holes in the second dowel.

      • 6

Place your double-ended knitting needles into the holes that you have created in the dowels, placing a dowel on either end of the needles.

      • 7

Secure your dowels to each knitting needle by wrapping a rubber band at the joint, wrapping first around the top of the needle and then the dowel. Repeat at all four corners so the crossbars do not move as you use them.
