How to create a tinkerbell kid's room

Girls of all ages are fascinated with Tinkerbell. She has been around ever since I can remember and will be around for years to come.

Tinkerbell is a great character to add to a girl's room because of her gentle color pallet.

Below are steps to creating the perfect Tinkerbell bedroom for your child.

Things You'll Need

• coloring pages
• carbon paper
• craft paints (flesh, green, blue, yellow, gold are just a few colors refer to a Tinkerbell picture for more color choices)
• fabric paints ( same colors as above)
• Paint brushes
• pie pan
• 4 8x10 picture frames

1. 

   Though Tinkerbell decor is popular and readily available in retail stores I am going to show you how to decorate your child's bedroom using a little imagination and coloring pages.

2. 

   The first step in creating the perfect Tinkerbell kid's room.

   Paint the walls with a pastel color (pink, green, blue, purple)

   Paint the wood work white

   Let the paint dry 24 hours before proceeding to the next step

3. Home Depot carries Tinkerbell Pixie dust stencils that will be a great accent to decorate your Tinkerbell kid's room.

   Use a sponge to apply the the paint ( I prefer white) to the Pixidust stencil around the top of the wall to form a border.

   * You can apply fairy dust (found in your local craft store) to the stenciling while the paint is still wet. This will add a glittering appeal to the stars.

   * You can also try glow in the dark paint to use for the stenciling. This will allow the stardust to glow when the lights are off.

4. 

   Now you can start creating your Tinkerbell Kid's room!

   Print out several Tinkerbell coloring pages
   * give your child 4 pages to color.

   Using your carbon paper trace the coloring pages onto the walls, leaving one wall free for your child's pictures.

   Take your craft paints and squeeze a generous amount into your pie pan.

   Paint in the Tinkerbell tracings that you just placed on the walls.

5. Your child's Tinkerbell kid's room should have your child's own personal touch.

   Remember the coloring pages that you asked your child to color? You are now going to place them in the 8x10 frames that you purchased from the supply list in "things you'll need" section of this article.

   * Hang them in a group of 4 on the wall that you left free while tracing your coloring pages.

Tips & Warnings

• I suggest that you trace all of your pictures around the room before you start painting. That way you can get a better idea of how it will look when it's done.

• You can wipe off any tracing that you don't like with a rag and a mild household cleaner.

• You can trace your coloring pages onto curtains or bed sheets and paint them in with fabric paints to add finishing touches.

• Purchase a pastel colored area rug and place it next to your child's bed.
