Things You'll Need:
- Oreo cookies
- Fryer, like a Fry Daddy
- Oil
- Buttermilk Pancake Mix
- Water
- Paper towels
- Plate
- Powdered sugar, optional
-
Step 1
Fry DaddyFirst you want to gather all your ingredients and get your fryer ready. I use a Fry Daddy and fill it up to the oil line. Preheat the Fryer to 350 degrees. When the fryer is ready, you are ready to start making your Deep Fried Oreos.
-
Step 2
Pancake BatterWhile your fryer is heating up prepare your pancake mix. I found that you don't need to use expensive or homemade pancake mix, an inexpensive store brand works great and makes it easy. I just used a store brand buttermilk pancake mix where all you need to add is water. Prepare the pancake mix and when the fryer is ready, you'll be ready to start dipping your Oreos.
-
Step 3
This is actually a Twinkie frying, but this is what your Oreos will look like floating.Once you are done making your batter, you can start dipping your oreos and gently placing them into your fryer. Do not use the basket that comes with the Fry Daddy because your deep fried oreos will stick to it and tear off the delicious coating. Dunk each oreo into the pancake batter and make sure it is covered on all sides. Gently with a slotted spoon or with your fingers (being very careful not to touch the hot oil), place the oreo into the oil. Do this for each oreo, but do not crowd the fryer. I found that placing about 5 or 6 at a time in the fryer gave me room to move them around and turn them over. After they have cooked for about a minute, flip them over to get them brown on the other side.

Step 4
Deep Fried Oreos - DeliciousOnce the Oreos are fried and brown on both sides, take them out of the fryer with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel on a plate to drain any excess oil. Wait a minute or two and eat them. They are best eaten hot. You can sprinkle them with some powdered sugar if you want, but you don't have to. They are so good and so easy to make. Enjoy!!!

I had them for the first time a few months ago at a fair and I loved them, I figured I'd search online for a recipe and happened to come upon this one. Just reading this makes my mouth water- I loved them at the fair, and can't wait to try making them myself:)
