What is a Good Foot Spa Recipe?
Pampering your feet is a wonderful way to relax but you don't have to spend tons of money at a spa. A few easy homemade recipes will get you started on an excellent spa treatment. No matter what recipe you use, there is an order to a foot spa that will give you the best results. You want to clean your feet first so they relax in a clean spa soak rather than soaking in dirty water. Use a combination of foot scrubs, soaks and lotions during your spa for beautiful feet. Things You'll Need
- Nail polish remover
- Cotton swab
- Nail clippers
- Large tub
- Lemon juice
- Cinnamon
- Olive oil
- Milk
- Water
- Epsom salts
- Baking soda
- Essential oils
- Sea salt
- Brown sugar
- Oats
- Aloe-vera
- Honey
- Towel
- Lotion

Remove nail polish with the cotton swab and nail polish remover and trim your toe nails.

Fill the tub with your spa soak ingredients. Mix 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1/8 tsp. cinnamon, 3 tbsp. olive oil, 1/4 cup milk and 1/3 cup water for a moisturizing soak or use 2 tbsp. Epsom salts, 2 tbsp. baking soda and 5 to 6 drops of essential oils of your choice for an anti-bacterial soak.

Place your feet in the water and allow them to soak for 10 to 15 minutes. You need 2 to 3 tbsp. of a soak recipe for each gallon of water used.

Scrub your feet with a homemade foot scrub. Sugar or salt scrubs work best and should be gently massaged into your skin with circular movements. Mix 1 tbsp. sea salt and 1 tbsp. olive oil for an easy salt scrub. A sugar scrub can be made from 3 tbsp. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. finely ground oats, 3 tbsp. aloe-vera, 1 tbsp. honey, 1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice and 1/2 tbsp. olive oil.

Rinse your feet and pat dry with a clean towel. Finish by applying a lotion or cream for perfect, spa-treated feet.

Tips & Warnings
Store extra soak mixture in a covered container in the refrigerator for a later use.
Lavender, lemon, sandalwood and mint are all excellent choices for essential oils in your foot spa soak.
Don't scrub too hard with a foot scrub or you can cause irritation.
