Want to invite your visitors to bookmark your webpage or blog? Want them to be able to add your site to their favorites with minimal effort?

Do you know that many people do not know how to add sites to their favorites? Even if they do, a web visitor just might not think to save your site unless reminded.

You can give your visitors just the reminder they need by following the steps below.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Webpage or Blog with code you can edit
  • Basic HTML knowledge
  1. Step 1
    Select Code Editing
    Select Code Editing

Open your blog or webpage code editor. There will typically be an option in your blog interface or web page design software. The default editing option is usually "Visual" or "WYSIWYG". Look for "edit HTML" or similar.

  2. Step 2
    Add Script to Code
    Add Script to Code

Within your code, locate the BODY tag. This will come after the HEAD tag. You will need to add the code below right after the BODY tag.

  3. Step 3

Save your page and upload to your server if you have your own website. If you have a blog, you will need to save and publish.

  4. Step 4
    Test the Link
    Test the Link

The final step is to test your link to make sure it performs correctly. To do this, open the page with the "Bookmark Us!" link, click on it and you should see the prompt box pop up as in the screenshot below.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you paste the code within the opening and closing BODY tags.
  • You can change the "Bookmark Us!" text to any message you want (just replace it in the code)
  • Don't forget to save before you upload.
  • BEFORE you alter any code on your site, please make sure you have a SAVED copy of the original coding handy so that if something goes wrong, you can revert back to your original coding and try again.
