Remove the stopper from all your drains (kitchen and bathroom sinks and bathtubs) once a month.

Fill a medium-size saucepan or a teakettle with water and put on to boil. Measure out 1 cup salt. Table salt, rock salt or kosher salt will all work.

Pour the salt directly into the drain when the water is boiling. Follow immediately with the boiling water. Leave the stopper out of the drain and don't use the sink for 4 to 5 hours or, ideally, overnight.

Replace stopper and run cold water in the drain. Use this method once a month for all the household drains and plumbing bills will plummet. The combination of salt and boiling water acts to dissolve grease and other debris and flush it away.

Tips & Warnings
To do multiple drains at once, boil four pans of water on the stove and treat drains before leaving the house in the morning or at nighttime.
This is safe to use on kitchen disposals.
