Things You'll Need:
- Volume Shampoo
- Volume Conditioner
- Hairdryer
- Volume Hairspray
- Small tooth comb
-
Step 1
WASH: Wash and condition your hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. I use Pantene Sheer Volume. You can use any brand you wish, they all work similar.
-
Step 2
DRY: Towel dry your hair, then blow hair dry with a hair dryer. Flip head upside down to dry, this allows the hair to lift at the roots. When your done drying, keep head flipped, and turn hair dryer to cold setting and aim at roots to cool them.
-
Step 3
PUMP THE ROOTS: When you flip head up, pull up sections of hair where you want volume. Lightly tease the hair at the root, spray teased section with volumizing hairspray, then blow-dry that section on medium heat setting.
-
Step 4
FINISHING TOUCH: When you are done teasing and spraying, lightly brush over the teased areas, so that there are no bumps in your hair. Don't brush too hard or you will brush out the volume. Style as desired and you're ready to go!

on 8/15/2008 You can also achieve that big hair look in a ponytail too. Once your hair is up, just gently pull out sections so the hair is not so tight. This makes hair look pretty thick and the style is trendy too!

on 8/5/2008 What husband wouldn't want to come home to his wife with gorgeous hair???? You've just reminded me that I've been wearing a ponytail too often this summer. Thanks for the reminder! (My husband will thank you too!) *****

on 8/3/2008 I'm looking forward to trying this approach on my hair. It almost reminds me of the 80's hair!!!
