1
Blow-dry your hair straight using a round brush and pulling the hair taught as you aim the dryer down the hair follicle from root to tip. Apply a dime-sized amount of smoothing pomade from the ends of your hair up to the roots.

2
Part your hair in the center, on the side, or don’t part it at all. You can style a French twist with or without a part. The choice is yours. Gather all of your hair back into a low ponytail in your hands, at the nape of your neck.

Twist the entire ponytail into a long spiral, with the exception of the your ends. Hold the base of the ponytail flat against your head with the heel of your right hand. With your right hand fingers and your left hand begin to fold the spiral over to the right, moving up toward the top of your head tucking hairs in underneath the spiral as you go.

Tuck the ends in when you reach the top. While still holding the spiral flat with one hand, secure the twist with Bobbie pins up and down the entire twist. Be sure you are pushing the Bobbie pins in underneath the twist and not showing on top!

5
Spray a firm holding hairspray all over your head, concentrating heavily on the twist. Clip a long pretty barrette vertically along the twist. If you plan to wear the style to a formal occasion, try using a rhinestone barrette. This will hide any unsightly pins that may be showing.

Tips & Warnings
You may want to secure the twist with the pins during the tucking and flattening process. It does take longer this way, but may be easier for you if you are a beginner.
Be sure the twist is centered on the back of you head, and not too far on either side. You should only be able to see the twist from the back.
