1
Purchase a skin whitening cream at your local store. Skin whitening creams work in the same way as tanning lotions. To ensure effectiveness, make sure that the cream contain hydroquinone as a primary ingredient. Read the directions and apply accordingly.

2
Use lemon juice to naturally lighten skin. To do this, buy a lemon and cut it in half. From inside a shower or bathtub, message the lemon on the surface of your skin. Apply for 5 to 10 minutes to remove a darker tan. Rinse thoroughly. Avoid repeated applications. Twice a week is sufficient.

Buy and use sunscreen with a high SPF. This will help to prevent increasing the intensity of the tan. Apply liberally to the face and shoulders, arms and legs.

4
Wear clothing to cover up your body. Wear long sleeves and pants, or use a hat to shade your face from sunlight.
-
5
Stay out of direct sunlight during “peak” hours. Stay out of the sun from 10 am to 3 pm during the summer and spring.

6
Give it time. Your skin will naturally lose pigment after several few weeks of little to no sun exposure.
