How to Make Sparkly Puff Paint

Looking for a fun craft project that you can make at home with your kids? Make sparkly puff paints, using ingredients you probably have in the pantry. Your kids will have fun making puffy, glossy, sparkly paintings.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • For each color of paint:
  • ½ cup salt
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup water
  • Food coloring
  • Bowl
  • Funnel
  • Spoon
  • Squeeze bottle or sandwich bag
  1. Step 1

    Mix the salt and flour in a bowl until, until thoroughly combined.

  2. Step 2

    Pour the water into the flour mixture and stir until it's the consistency of pudding.

  3. Step 3

    Add food coloring, a few drops at a time. Stir well after every few drops. Add coloring until the paint has reached the color you desire.

  4. Step 4

    Place a small funnel in the squeeze bottle and spoon the paint mixture into the squeeze bottle. If you don't have a squeeze bottle, pour it into a sandwich bags and snip of a small corner.

  5. Step 5

    Squeezing the paint onto paper. Allow the paintings to dry overnight.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cut up empty cereal boxes and let kids use the back of the cardboard for an affordable canvas.
  • Wash and save ketchup, mustard, dressing and other squeeze bottles from your kitchen.
