It can take a lot of patience to deal with a child who does not want to sleep through the night. It can take weeks or even months, but with a little persistance you can get your baby to sleep through the night.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience
  • Time
  • Dedication
  1. Step 1

Make sure you baby has ate just before bedtime. It will make putting the baby to sleep a lot easier if they are falling asleep on a full stomach.

  2. Step 2

Change their diaper. Make sure that their diaper is dry when they go to bed so that they are comfortable. It will make falling asleep a lot more easier on baby.

  3. Step 3

Purchase a mobile to keep the baby entertained while they are falling asleep. I personally like the ones that have a remote, so that you may turn it on and off from a distance so that you do not cause a distraction.

  4. Step 4

Let them cry. At first they may cry themselves to sleep, but they will get used to it and eventually it will not be a traumatic event for baby. You will spoil them too much if you go in there every time you hear a peep. You can also listen to them on a baby monitor if it helps.

  5. Step 5

Give them less naps during the daytime so that they will sleep longer during the nighttime hours. Part of the reasons why babies do not sleep as much at night is because they have slept so much during the day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be persistant with your baby's schedule.
  • You cannot comfort your baby everytime they make a peep or otherwise they will become a demanding, spoiled child.
