Find out in advance when services are being held at your synagogue, and attend at least one.
-
3
Study a Rosh Hashana prayer book and reflect on how the prayers relate to your life.
-
4
Begin to make amends and resolve conflicts. Ask for forgiveness from those you have offended, and let go of any bad feelings and old grudges that you still have.
-
5
Contribute in some way to a worthy cause. Give old clothes to a homeless shelter, donate money to an organization that feeds the poor, or visit with the sick or elderly.
-
6
Perform activities to get you in the holiday spirit. Take turns blowing a shofar, and eat challah and apples dipped in honey to symbolize the hope for a sweet new year.
