Eat a well-balanced diet. What we eat in our diets shows on our skin. Be sure to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, which help maintain healthy skin and will help you stay healthy overall. Incorporate flaxseed into your diet as well. Flaxseed contains omega-three fatty acids, which are extremely beneficial to healthy skin. You can put flaxseed in breakfast shakes, in yogurt, or sprinkle it over your cereal.

Drink lots of water. Keep your body hydrated and drink at least eight glasses of water a day. It is helpful to carry a water bottle with you wherever you go to make sure you get your daily water intake. Drinking lots of water will help reduce the presence of lines and wrinkles and eliminate acne. It will also keep you from becoming dehydrated, which can lead to dry skin.

Exercise on a regular basis. Exercising not only helps skin to flush away impurities, but also promotes production of your skin’s oil called sebum, which acts as a natural moisturizer. Exercise also helps to get the blood flowing to the surface which is important because blood carries oxygen and other valuable nutrients that are necessary for healthy skin.

Cut down on stress and get plenty of rest. You may not think that stress affects your skin, but cutting down on stress will help you to eat, sleep and feel better overall. Get plenty of rest because a lack of sleep will cause for higher stress and slow down circulation, which will affect healthy skin.

Wash your face and moisturize. Wash your face in the morning and at night before you go to bed. Washing your face not only removes dead skin cells, but it also removes debris and dirt that your face has collected throughout the day. Moisturize your skin to keep it hydrated. Keeping your skin hydrated will prevent wrinkles and increase its elasticity. It is good to moisturize, but don’t over moisturize, or you will end up with clogged pores and unhealthy looking skin.
