Learn how to golf. Before you can teach golf you need to learn how to play the game correctly. You can learn by reading books like “Golf For Dummies” (see Resources below). You can also take golfing lessons at your local pro shop.
-
2
Develop your golfing skills. Take advanced level golfing lessons in golf skills like the fade, low shots, high shots, draws and chip shots. Also have your golfing skills analyzed using a video analysis system. Use the results to identify your weaknesses and strength. Improve your weakness with practice.

3
Take pro golf certification courses. These courses are offered by a number of professional golf organizations, including the USGTF (see Resources below). There are many levels of certification that you can take including basic certification and master’s level certification. Most pro shops will require that you have some sort of golf teaching certification in order to teach their customers.

4
Find a job teaching golf. Golf teachers are hired by pro shops at golf courses and private golf clubs, by school golf teams and by individual golfers. To help you find clients or a full-time gig, you will need a resume that includes information about your golf skills, training and certifications, and you will need business cards.
