Endless Zombie Rampage is a flash-based top down shooter developed by Diseased Productions and distributed by Crazy Monkey Games. Players defend a base at the top of the screen against a, well, an endless zombie rampage approaching from below. It's an intense game and a difficult one, but there are some guidelines that will help drive up your scores.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  1. Step 1

Keep your base in sight. The field is larger than the play window so, as you head down, you'll lose sight of your base. This is risky since zombies can and will enter from the sides, not just the bottom. While you're defending the bottom of the field, there may be zombies off-screen at the top contentedly munching away at your barbed wire. Don't let them do that.

  2. Step 2

Worry about the base, not yourself. It's all about the base in Endless Zombie Rampage. The zombies can attack you but if you're moving around it's very unusual to get hit, and it would take a lot of hits to kill you. You're far, far more likely to lose the game because your base is overrun. So when you're spending experience points between rounds, don't worry about increasing your hit points. Build up your base instead.

  3. Step 3

Use that knockback. The zombies in Endless Zombie Rampage may be able to take a bullet and keep coming, but they will be knocked backward each time they're hit. Keep shooting them and you can knock them back across a significant part of the screen before they finally go down with that very satisfying squish. You can use this effect to your advantage. Use it to drive zombies back down-screen to protect yourself, and especially use it to drive them away from your base if they're attacking it. What you don't want to do is shoot one in the back and help drive it toward your base.

  4. Step 4

Plan your weapon strategy. You'll start with a simple USP pistol, which you'll want to replace pretty quickly. But, especially early in the game, experience points are at a premium. Buy weapons wisely. Most follow a standard progression. There are three different pistols, each more powerful than the last. Similarly, there are three SMGs, three shotguns and three assault rifles. Pick a type and stick with it. If you decide to go with the first level assault rifle, your next purchase should be the second level assault rifle, not the first level shotgun. As the zombies get tougher, you're going to want to be dealing a lot more damage. If you've got the first level shotgun, also having the first level SMG back in your inventory isn't going to help you. But the third level shotgun will save your life.

  5. Step 5

Get the power ups later, when you've got points to spare. There are six power ups available, but particularly in the early stages, spend your points on weapons and base upgrades. Even though Marathon Man (which increases your running speed) is cheaper than the others, avoid it. You run plenty fast enough as it is. Later on, start with Overkill and Bloodlust because these will actually increase the rate at which you gain points. The others are bonuses to weapon damage and overall rate of fire. You'll upgrade those qualities when you upgrade your weapon anyway. Once you've topped out your weapon, then you can use those power-ups to add even more firepower.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watch out for glitches, particularly in weapon selection. The program isn't perfect. Depending on your browser or various other factors, the game may sometimes act unpredictably--especially in the weapon selection screen. Sometimes you'll choose a weapon and then find yourself unable to choose a different one, for example. So don't select a weapon unless you know you want to use it.
