Waxing removes hair from the root. It takes approximately three to six weeks for the hair to grow back and when it does it grows back lighter and finer. Waxing is a great hair-removal method for women who don’t have the time to shave frequently. Cold wax can be purchased from the drugstore in prewaxed plastic strips. Many people choose to use cold wax at home because it isn’t as messy as hot wax, and the kits are easier to use.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cold wax kit
  • Baby oil
  1. Step 1

Purchase a cold waxing kit from your local drugstore.

  2. Step 2

Take a warm shower before waxing. This will open the pores on your legs and facilitate quick and easy hair removal.

  3. Step 3

Place the prewaxed cold wax strip on your leg. Smooth the strip down using moderate pressure in the direction of the hair growth.

  4. Step 4

Hold your skin above the strip taut with your left hand.

  5. Step 5

Pull the strip off quickly in the opposite direction of the hair growth with your right hand.

  6. Step 6

Repeat until you have removed all of your leg hair.

  7. Step 7

Rub your legs down with baby oil to remove any excess wax.

Tips & Warnings
  • Although the set up for cold wax is easier, hot waxing is often more effective. You may need to go over patches with especially thick hair several times to completely remove the hair.
