Things You'll Need:
- Plain flip flops
- Ribbon or fabric
- Scissors
- Beads
- Craft glue
-
Step 1
Buy plain flip flops at a local craft store. They are usually quite inexpensive and come in a variety of colors. You can choose to make them all match, or allow the girls attending the bachelorette party to choose their own colors.
-
Step 2
Cut up fabric in strips. The strips should be about a half-inch wide and about 3 inches long. You need to be able to tie the strip of fabric around the plastic portion of the flip flop and still have some fabric available to stand up from the flip flop.
-
Step 3
Tie the strips of fabric around the plastic section of the flip flop. Make sure you tie each strip close enough to the previous one in order to cover all the plastic. If you would like, you may trim the edges of the fabric with pinking shears to give the flip flop a fancier look.
-
Step 4
Glue beads onto the flip flop around the edges. Use craft glue to affix the beads to the foam edges of the shoe. If you decide to add beads to the flip flops, make sure you allow enough time for the glue to fully dry before wearing the flip flops.
-
Step 5
Try on the flip flops and make sure they are comfortable. Ensure that none of the embellishments are poking you in the foot anywhere, and that you can comfortably walk in them. Check to make sure the fabric is not hanging too far off the shoe, so you don't trip or cause the fabric strips to come untied from the flip flop.
