Golf can be a fun and challenging sport, but like any other sport it takes practice, patience and persistence to master. If you are taking lessons, the first instructions you get will be on how to stand and swing your driver. Here are steps to help you.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Golf driver
  • Golf balls
  1. Step 1

Stand at the ball with your golf club. Your right hand should be at the bottom of the grip or gripping tape below the left hand. If left handed, your left hand is at the bottom of the grip.

  2. Step 2

Slightly bend your legs and keep your back straight. If right handed, your left shoulder should be facing where you're aiming and vice-versa.

  3. Step 3

Keep your eyes on the ball, not the hole. Swing the club back about 90 degrees, slowly. Bring the club back down and remember to follow through. It's about strength and speed. If you swing fast but not strong, the ball will not go far. If you swing strong and fast, the ball will go very far. If you swing strong but not fast, you may slice the ball.

  4. Step 4

At the end of the swing, look to see where the ball is going. If you are playing a game of golf, move your team and your gear to where the golf ball is.

  5. Step 5

Practice your swing daily with normal household items or your driver. Practice outside so you don't break anything.
