Download SmitRem from its official website (See Resources below) and save it to your desktop.

Double-click the executable file labeled "SmitRem.exe" on your desktop, and install the files on a separate folder on your desktop.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode to ensure that any malicious programs you uninstall are completely removed from your system. You can initiate Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key on your keyboard as the computer boots up. Log on to the particular user account that is infected.

Double-click the SmitRem folder icon that is on your desktop. Once the folder opens, double-click the file labeled "RunThis.bat," which will launch the SmitRem tool.

As it detects and removes malware, SmitRem will present you with a series of screens. Carefully follow the prompts as they come up on each screen. When prompted, close all open windows and hit any key to continue.

Let SmitRem run the Windows Disk Cleanup Wizard to delete any temporary files stored on your computer.

Reboot your computer in normal mode after SmitRem has finished running Disk Cleanup.

If you have the classic theme, this may be changed when you reboot. You can change it back by right-clicking anywhere on the desktop and then click on "Properties." Click on the "Themes" tab and then make your changes.

Tips & Warnings
Because SmitRem only scans for pre-programmed threats built into the program, it is not a suitable replacement for a competent anti-virus program like Norton or McAfee. All the same, SmitRem does a fantastic job at removing the threats listed in the program’s database.
