If you want to purchase a home and you believe you are in a low income bracket and meet the government's requirements for living at the federal poverty level, you may qualify to receive a federal housing grant. Go to the grants.gov website and click on the find grant opportunities button. Click on the get registered button, if you are not already registered.

Register for the credential provider and use your FON number to specify which loan you are applying for.

Complete the registration process by obtaining all of the usernames and passwords, write the information down and then proceed to apply for the grant.

Finish the grant application process by following the online prompts and allow up to 30 days for processing and approval.
