A popular guy has many advantages over other guys in school. He has a steady flow of friends and other people who want to spend time with him. Either he has made a great deal of effort to be popular, or he is just one of those people people naturally gravitate to. If you have with a crush on a guy who happens to be popular, don't fret: There are ways to let him know that you like him.

1. Make eye contact with him in class. You want him to notice you in a way he won't quickly forget. Making and keeping eye contact with him for even a few seconds can speak volumes. Give him a quick wink and go back to your work. You don't want to be too distracting or give too much attention.

2. If he is running for office or trying out for a sports team, let him know he has your support. A quick smile and a remark of encouragement can mean a lot.

3. Throw a small get-together at your place if possible (with a parent's permission), and make an extra-special effort to invite him. Give him an invitation on paper, even if it is simply your address with directions. Choose a date and time that are not likely to conflict with his interests. Just be sure that you invite plenty of other people for support, and that you keep the focus on having fun with them as well.

4. Slip him a note that has a sweet, simple compliment on it. This works best if you already have some sort of friendship with him; you don't want to do it for someone who is practically a stranger. The note should say something kind, like "You're cute." You don't want to go to extremes here, or it could frighten him. Do something really simple.

5. Ask him to help you with your homework. Make sure it's a subject he excels in, or he will be confused as to why you want his help. Spending time with him will help you show your feelings.
