Instructions

    • 1

When working with stainless steel you want to avoid using products that can scratch the surface. A paste of lemon juice and cream of tartar that you mix up in a glass bowl will not scratch your stainless steel.

    • 2

Apply the paste on the rust stain and massage it in with your fingers.

    • 3

If the stain is heavy you will want to let the paste sit for up to an hour.

    • 4

Take your damp washcloth and wipe the paste away.

    • 5

Dry with a dry towel and enjoy your rust-free stainless steel.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you do not have cream of tartar you can substitute baking soda.

  • Never use scouring pads or highly abrasive cleaners on your stainless steel.

Do not substitute baking soda for the cream of tartar. It will react with the lemon juice and they will neutralize each other. You *can* use white vinegar instead of lemon juice.
