Create, store and share your presentations online by using online document services like Google Docs or Zoho Writer. Both are free to use and permit you to create your documents online, including documents that mimic Word, Excel and PowerPoint . Both have task bars and tools that are nearly identical to the word processing and presentation software you're probably accustomed to using, but you work entirely on the Web and your documents are saved online. You can easily email your documents or share them with a work group. The best thing is that you can open these documents from any computer using your user ID and password.

Publish your presentations directly from Google Docs or Zoho Writer simply by pressing "Publish," an option located on the toolbar. Once Google publishes your presentation, you'll receive the URL where it can be found. This simply means that your presentation is out on the Web, available for all to see. You also have the option of keeping your documents private, meant only for your eyes.

Sign up for a free account with one of a growing number of online presentation websites, which encourage you to share your slide shows with other members. You get your own profile page, along with all of your presentations. Most of the websites give you the option of making your slide show private or public. Just a few of these sites are Slideshare, Viewbook, 280Slides, Slideboom, Sliderocket and Prezentit (see Resources below).

Upload PowerPoint presentations directly from your desktop or hard drive to any of these online presentation sites to save space on your computer and to permit access from any computer. You can also download your presentations from any of these sites back to your hard drive, which comes in handy if you happen to be presenting in a venue without Web access.
