Instructions

    • 1

Use a paper towel to blot a generous amount of white vinegar onto the area(s) of the garment that contains a needle and thread hole. The vinegar will cause the pores in the individual threads to open up. This will allow the threads to mesh together more easily.

    • 2

Scrub the area vigorously with a soft bristle brush. Make sure to scrub every visible hole for a minimum of thirty seconds. This scrubbing action will help to tangle the fabric fibers over the hole.

    • 3

Lay the area of the garment flat on an ironing board and cover with a piece of cloth. Bring the iron to a medium heat setting.

    • 4

Thoroughly iron the area through the cloth. Turn the garment as needed and iron the affected areas. Be sure to iron inside as well as outside of the garment.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the garment is not colorfast, use a small, inconspicuous area to test with vinegar. This will ensure the garment will not fade or smear.
