Purchase a makeup mirror that magnifies your features. This will make it easier to see which eyelashes to cut and how much. Cutting too much may cause your eyelashes to grow back slower than usual or not at all. It's important to trim, but not pull the eyelash from its root. Using a mirror that allows you to see individual eyelashes clearly will help you avoid making any mistakes while trimming.

Use a small pair of scissors so you can trim individual eyelashes. Small scissors will also reduce the risk of pulling the eyelash out. Start on the outside of the eye and gently trim your eyelashes to the desired length. Don't trim too much or your eyelashes will appear to have disappeared.
