Start Spore Creature Creator. When the Galaxy page appears, click the icon that looks like a hammer and paintbrush to create a new creature. A basic body will appear. The size, shape and color of this body will be chosen at random. You can change the size and shape of the body by clicking and dragging the adjustment arrows at the ends or by mousing over the spinal column and turning your scroll wheel without depressing it.

Select which abilities and attributes you would like your creature to have. Each part in the left side of the screen contributes certain qualities, such as bite, spit, strike, sing, sight, charm, health, dance, speed and jump. Each part costs DNA points, which will be deducted from your total when placed on your creature's body.

Click and drag a part from the mouth section to the body of your creature. The arrow on the base shows which way the creature's head should go. Depending on which mouth you select, your creature will be a carnivore, an omnivore or an herbivore.

Click on the subsequent tabs to add more parts to your creature. Click and drag eyes and senses, arms and legs, graspers, feet, weapons and details to your creature as you like. Watch your complexity meter; if you have too many parts, it will turn red. When the part is in the position you want, click the adjustment arrow, the position ball or the rotation ring to change its position. Make the part larger or smaller by mousing over it and turning the scroll wheel.

Click the Paintbrush icon to paint your creature. Choose a complete style for quick and easy painting, or choose a partial style to design your own paint style. Select the base first, then coat and detail. You may also select the color of each part of your creature's paint job. Click and hold the small squares to get more color options.

Click "Save and Exit" on the lower-right side of the screen and click "Save" when the program prompts you. Click the green globe icon with the check mark to share your creation on the Spore website.
