Tired of the same old cookie shapes? Making your own cookie cutters is a great way to customize your cookies. With a few simple steps, you can make your very own cookie cutters in creative shapes that you can personalize for any occasion.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sharp scissors
  • Tape or stapler
  • Aluminum lasagna pans
  • Gloves
  1. Step 1

Draw the shape of cookie cutter that you would like to create on a sheet of paper.

  2. Step 2

Cut out the bottom of an aluminum lasagna pan using scissors.

  3. Step 3

Cut your piece of aluminum into long, equal strips. The strips are usually good about 1 inch wide.

  4. Step 4

Bend your metal strips to the shape you want your cookie cutter to be, using your paper drawing as a guide.

  5. Step 5

If one strip is not long enough, add length to your first strip with a second strip by stapling or taping them together.

  6. Step 6

Once you have made your shape, fasten the metal ends together with staples or tape.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is a good idea to wear gloves while cutting and shaping your cookie cutters. The aluminum edges will be very sharp.
