How to Remove a Pimple on a Digital Photo
Pimples, scars, and other distracting blemishes can be easily removed from your digital photos with a little work and knowledge. This article will teach you how to remove them once and for all. All you need in order to do this is a copy of Photoshop or other image editing software. Gimp, a free image editing package, is available online and works on Linux, Max, and Windows while Photoshop is available from Adobe. This tutorial uses Photoshop but the same principles can be used with Gimp.

Select the clone stamp tool on the tools pallet. Select an appropriate sized brush. I prefer to use a ten pixel brush. You can use more or less if you want, depending on the area and the detail you are working with. When selecting a brush type, select the brush that is fading at its edges. This blends better, as compared with the solid circle.

Alt-left click the picture, near the pimple that you want to remove. When you Alt-click, keep in mind the skin tones you are selecting as the skin will replace the pimple with an exact duplicate of your selection. You can always Alt-click a different section after working a little, in order to keep a different skin tone.

With your cursor over the pimple, click and hold the left mouse button while painting over the pimple. If you do not match the skin tone, you can blur the cloned section with the blur tool and it will blend better.

Select the blur tool from the tools pallet. You will need to change your brush size for the best results. If you had the clone brush set to ten pixels, set the blur tool to fifteen or twenty pixels. Left click the cloned spot and briefly run the brush over it, blending it into the surrounding areas.
