How to Render an Ice Wall Using Photoshop Filters

Some filters on Photoshop are so useful that they will practically create textures for you. An example of this is the glass filter. All that is needed is some preparation with filters such as chrome and clouds to create a texture that looks like a wall of ice cubes.

      Run the clouds filter under the "Render" drop-down menu.

      Run the chrome filter under the "Sketch" drop-down menu.

      Run the glass filter under the "Distort" drop-down menu using minimal smoothness and 14 distortion. Set the scaling at 50 percent and the texture to blocks.

      Set the blending mode to "Color burn" and use the paint bucket on the canvas, using a bluish color.

      Duplicate the layer and set the blending mode to Screen." Then blur that layer until you are happy with the results.
